Fossil Ridge High School Student From Fort Collins Presumed Dead After Canoeing Accident

The loss of young life in tragic news. According to the Coloradoan it is believed that a Fossil Ridge High School student died in Wyoming last week while canoeing in Glendo State Park.
Apparently Tanner Arnett and a friend were boating near Indian Point and their canoe capsized last Wednesday. The teenagers tried to swim to shore, but only one of them made it.
911 calls were made that prompted authorities to search the water for two days, and a body was found on Friday.
Because the case is under investigation, the Platte County Coroner’s Office would not yet identify the person who died or release details about the cause or manner of death. Authorities did tell a Wyoming newspaper that the boy presumed to be dead was from Fort Collins.
Such a sad, tragic story.
My thoughts go out to Tyler’s family and friends and everyone at Fossil Ridge High School.
