EBTFood stamps can be a good thing when they are used responsibly, sadly, not all food stamp recipients are. Take this Florida woman who was advertising the illegal sale of her food stamps on Facebook.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, police got a call about a 23-year-old woman selling her food stamps on Facebook. She was offering $100 worth of food stamps for $50 cash, a heck of a deal. When police went to find her to look in to the case, she was already in jail on other charges and then confessed to selling her EBT card.

Now, in addition to whatever she was already in jail for, she’s being charged with welfare fraud.

‘Hmm, I’ll try and score some cash for my welfare money on Facebook; no way anyone could track me down on there!’

Its stories like this that gives the Sun-Sentinel a reason to have their own FloriDUH news category.
