9News is reporting that a fire damaged the Colorado State University equine center earlier this morning. They say no horses or people were injured in the fire, but the building may be a total loss.

The Equine Reproductive Laboratory in Ft. Collins was severely damaged. Fire officials responded to the blaze around 1AM this morning.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming through the roof, according to Poudre Fire Authority spokesperson Patrick Love. Horses were evacuated from surrounding stables.

Love says the building looks to be a total loss at this point. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
