Fearsome Lawn Ornament Shot Dead by Cops

Police officers in Kansas City were called to local pond because an alligator was sighted near by. Taking no chances with the animal, they fired a couple shots at the alligator. The officers then noticed that the alligator did not move and one shot even bounced off the gators head. That's when they realized that it was indeed nothing more than a ceramic lawn ornament and not a real alligator.
The owner of the local pond said that he was the one who put the fake alligator there to scare local children from going near the pond.
Now that is an interesting way of keeping kids away from going near your pond. The owner of the ceramic alligator can pat himself on the back on the realism of his purchase though. It fooled everyone, even the cops.
