Dinner With Christina Perri, And Her New Album
February 28, 2011 7:01 AM Saturday night I was lucky enough to have Dinner with Christina Perri at the Rio in Downtown Denver. It was an exciting night as she had just finished listening to her new album the night before.
She’s fun, she’s spunky, she’s adorable, and I don’t think I have ever met anyone who was as excited about their own music, or about music in general as Christina. Once we got her talking about her new album or about the recording process, she lit up like kid on Christmas morning. One meal with her and I can tell she pours her heart and soul into her craft.
Her excitement was infectious, as it should be. Christina is riding the wave of going from writing songs in her bedroom and posting them on YouTube, to garnering all sorts of national attention and fast becoming a star in the music world. The video for her song “Jar Of Hearts” has been viewed nearly 10 million times.
Christina’s new album will be called Lovestrong and should be out in May. Her and her team finished the entire album in 33 days and, and you can tell just how excited she is about it by her Facebook post from Friday night:
“Just listened to my whole 11 song album. Top to bottom in my bed under the covers and cried like a baby. I am so proud of it! I can’t wait for you to hear it!! it’s everything I am”
