Dash The Dead 2012 – Zombie 5k In Windsor, Colorado [PICTURES]
Derek and I both spent our Saturday morning running...for our lives! We participated in the 1st Dash The Dead in Windsor, Colorado. A 5K charity race where runners tried to run a course around Windsor Lake while dodging zombies, climbing obstacles, and trying to keep as many of our "life flags" as possible.
It was a blast, and my legs are still a little sore. (I hadn't sprinted that fast for years!) Check out a few of our pictures from the day below.
Last week before the race, a few of you voted on who would survive longer. Surprise, surprise...we both did! (Although Derek did finish with one more life flag than me, so I have to concede the victory to him.)
All-in-all, I had a great time. NoCo Adventures had professional make-up artists getting the zombies bloodied up, a DJ spinning music all day, and this was right up there with Warrior Dash and Mud Brigade as far as how much fun I had running it. If you don't know, I don't like running (just ask my trainer). But when there is a 'reason' to run, such as being chased by zombies, suddenly it becomes a great time more fun for me.
