Persistence pays off. At least that's what this guy who had his bike stolen almost a year ago learned. He found his stolen bike on Craigslist and got the culprit arrested, seven months after the fact.

According to the Denver Channel, a guy in Colorado Springs had his $,3000 Pivot mountain bike stolen in March of 2013. As is the case with a lot of bike thefts, there was no trace of the bike or who took it, but out guy happened to find a very similar bike for sale on Craigslist in November. (Count it, that's seven-months after the theft.)

He sent an email to the seller and arranged to take a look at and verified that it was, in fact, his stolen bike. He then called police, gave them the serial number, they arrested the guy for felony theft and the expensive bike was returned to its rightful owner.

I imagine it takes a lot of will-power to talk with someone who is selling your stolen bike to not do something rash and impulsive.
