The former all star player Walt Weiss has interviewed this past week with the Colorado Rockies team for the manager position to replace Jim Tracy.

The former Rockies player (94'-97') has always been a fan favorite due to his courageous style of ball-game. He has earned respect as a baseball manager in his previous run with Regis leading the team to a 20-6 winning record.

"The timing is right, although I know the timing is never perfect when you are talking about mixing family and baseball," Weiss said. "But I've been involved with the Rockies for a long time and I've lived in the Denver community for 18 years, a place I love, so I saw this as a really neat opportunity." Weiss said.

Weiss has always had a close relationship with Colorado and the team ever since he left the club in 1997. He has been in talks with the team ever since former manager Jim Stracy left the club on Oct. 7th.
