I've never seen a parenting book that had to deal with the topic of, "Don't use your kids to hide things you steal from the grocery store," but that chapter needs to be added somewhere apparently. A Denver couple used their 5-year-old to hide products in their shopping cart while they waltzed out of the store without paying.

According to The Denver Channel, this all went down at a Stapleton-area King Soopers where a loss-prevention officer saw the couple taking items and hiding them under their child while he was sitting int he cart. Then they exited the store without paying for what was in the cart. They were ticketed for shoplifting and wrongs to minors.

Way to set an example for you child! (That was sarcasm, in case you couldn't tell.)

This is one of those cases where I feel like a little public-shaming would be the perfect punishment, if it were legal.
