The game between the Colorado Ice and Tri-Cities Fever Saturday night at the Budweiser Events Center came down to a kick, twice. The Ice were spared, for a few minutes anyways, after the Fever missed a kick to send the game into overtime. They weren't so lucky during the extra frame. Still with the loss the Colorado Ice will make the playoffs, but the loss may have cost them a chance to host a playoff game.

After the Fever missed the kick to end regulation the Ice received the ball first to begin the college-style overtime. Ice quarterback Jeremy Sanders threw an interception on the very first play of overtime. Meaning all the Fever had to do was kick a short field goal for the win. Only this time, the Fever didn't waste the opportunity. Final score; Fever - 52, Ice - 49.

Jeremy Sanders, who lost for the first time in four starts at quarterback, said the offense was out of sync from the very start. Their timing was right in the second quarter, scoring 25 points in the frame to take a 32-29 halftime lead. But when the game was on the line, he and his receiver weren't on the same page.

The Ice (8-5) remain confident that their talent stacks up well against any other team in the Indoor Football League (IFL). But the loss leaves their chances of hosting a first-round playoff game still up in the air. With two weeks remaining in the IFL regular season (the Ice only have one game left, and one bye week) here is what the playoff picture looks like for the Ice...
