'Bath Salts' have come to the forefront of news headlines lately, such as the story where a naked man high on bath salts ate of another man’s face!

Well, good news if you were worried that these drugs were the pre-cursor to the zombie apocalypse; today a Colorado “Bath Salts” ban has been signed into law.

KDVR reports that Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper signed the bill today outlawing the illegal use of “bath salts,” which are actually called cathinones. These drugs had been readily available in many Colorado head shops.

The new law, which goes into effect immediately, creates a penalty for the possession of cathinones, the dangerous chemical used in bath salts. It also creates a penalty for deceptive trade practices by anyone who distributes manufactures, sells or purchases cathinone products.

Some of the other names cathinones go by are "Ivory Wave," "Purple Wave," Vanilla Sky," and "Bliss" according to WebMD. And what kind of things can they do to you?

Agitation, paranoia, hallucinations, chest pain, suicidality.

I’ve never been in to drugs to begin with, with that hardly looks like a laundry list of things I'd ever want to experience for fun.
