In relativity to some of the other fires burning across Colorado, the Woodland Heights Fire was small. As far as destruction goes, it was anything but small. 24 structures including 22 homes were lost in the blaze that burned only 27.3 acres. Officials have determined the fire was likely caused by an electrical line rubbing against a pine tree during high winds.

The fire that ignited Saturday on Larkspur Drive private property is now completely contained and residents previously evacuated were allowed to return home Monday afternoon.

A public information line on the fire remains in place, shared with High Park Fire public information. For more, call (970) 498-5500.
