I had Saturday off last weekend, and I thought it would be fun to watch some cartoons.  However, after channel surfing for several minutes, I realized that the cartoons I used to enjoy have been replaced by mediocre live-action shows and confusing anime shows (I mean, Beyblade? Seriously?  Thousands of people in an arena watching spinning tops crash into each other?  No thanks.)  Then, just when I had given up hope, I found out that Cartoon Network is taking a step in the right direction...by taking a step back to its classic shows!

Friday marked the debut of "Cartoon Planet," a new programming block on Friday evenings that features shows like Cow and ChickenThe Powerpuff GirlsFoster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Johnny Bravo, and Dexter's Laboratory.

And just to add icing to the cake, this weekly segment will be hosted by Zorak and Brak, from the good ol' Space Ghost days!

I may buy a DVR just to record "Cartoon Planet" every week.  Good move, Cartoon Network!  Here's the promo for "Cartoon Planet:"
