Boulder Man Drops Marbles into Lake to Stop High Park Fire- Say “What!?”
I am all for trying anything to stop this fire, and so is this man. Boulder resident, Jesse Field was throwing marbles into the Boulder Reservoir as part of a ritual in praying for rain to stop the High Park Fire.
Boulder police ticketed a 35-year-old man over the weekend who officers reported was dropping marbles into the Boulder Reservoir as part of a ritual in which he said he was praying for rain to stop the High Park Fire.
Again, I am all for trying everything to help stop the fire but he went a little far. He apparently was belligerent and threatened an employee at the Reservoir with a golf club. He was ticketed for damage to public property and obstructing government operations. I have never heard of dropping marbles into a lake for rain, have you? What other "rain dance" rituals have you heard of?
