Over the weekend, Derek and I had the privilege of taking some Point listeners out to dinner and to meet Andy Grammer and Rachel Platten before their sold-out show at the Marquis Theatre.

The evening started off with a great dinner at Lodo's Bar & Grill in Denver (which in conveniently less than 2-blocks from the Marquis Theatre). Andy came and joined us, showing off his brand new rockin' Angry Birds shirt. After that Lodo's let us go upstairs and take a nice group photo on the balcony overlooking Coors Field. Cool stuff.

Then it was on to the Marquis Theatre where we were given the VIP treatment in the tour bus with the lovely Rachel Platten.

After that it was showtime. Rachel opened the night up with her bouncy, uplifting piano-pop. I think she won over a slew of new fans and even threw in a medley that included a little Snoop Dogg (nice touch).

Ryan Star took the stage next, he'd been stuck in I-70 traffic (we all know that feeling) and missed his sound check, but rocked the whole place. I feel he has one of the most 'powerful' voices out there right now and did not disappoint.

Andy Grammer was headlining and I think nearly every person in the sold out theatre was singing along to his whole set. He played his hits, he played some covers, he even had his band mate bust out an accordion for a couple of songs. Near the end of his set he brought Rachel back out on stage to sing an adorable little duet (see video clips below). And ended the night with an encore of "We Found Love" (see video clips below). Awesome.

If you ever had a doubt of the power of Andy Grammer's tunes, check out the crowd singing along to 'Keep Your Head Up' in Denver on Saturday Night.

As I had said prior to this show, these are three of my favorite people in music right now and they met and exceeded my expectations once again. If your not familiar with any of them, do yourself a favor and click the links below and get aquainted.

Side-note for you: The pizza sold at Marquis Pizza inside the venue is amazing. I'm just sayin'.

Thanks to S-Curve Records and Rock Ridge Music making it all possible!
