A seven-year-old boy fighting against brain cancer got to make one of the best plays that has ever happened on a football field during the Nebraska Cornhuskers spring game.

If this doesn't make your heart melt, I'm not sure what else will.

According to Fox News, the kid’s name is Jack Hoffman and he was diagnosed with brain cancer in April of 2011. He’s had two surgeries already and is on a 60-week chemotherapy treatment.

One of Nebraska’s players, running back Rex Burkhead, became friends with Jack through a program call Uplifting Athletes.

Well, for this year’s spring game Burkhead and the Cornhuskers wanted to do something special for jack. They presented him with an actual Nebraska Cornhuskers uniform and had him suit up for the spring game. Then they called him on to the field and on a fourth-and-one play Jack took a handoff and ran 69-yards for a touchdown in front of 60-thousands people at Memorial Stadium.

I grew up a CU and CSU fan, but even this is enough for me to cheer on ‘Big Red.’ (Maybe it’s my own battle with cancer, but I get all teary-eyed every time I push play on this video.)

Best of luck to you Jack, I hope this is a memory you get o cherish for many, many years to come. To Rex Burkhead and the rest of the Cornhuskers football team that made this possible; kudos to you. Words cannot express how much this probably meant to Jack and his family.

Absolutely heartwarming.
