Dare To Lose: Team Beast Mode [Drew, TSM][/caption]As you've probably heard on the station, I'm taking part in this big Dare To Lose competition with fellow DJs Butch and Drew, along with nine contestants who are competing to see who can lose the most fat with the help of Miramont Lifestyle Fitness.

We're two weeks into the competition and I am down over seven pounds already and you won't believe how many pounds the contestants have lost so far!

Now, I know the number of pounds is not the end-all measurement that people should be concerned with when getting in shape, but it sure feels good when those numbers start going down. I'm already getting past the "I'm really sore" days more quickly and feel like I have more energy after just a couple weeks of workouts.

And I think the coolest part about this whole Dare To Lose program is seeing the progress made by our participants. Those nine people have combined to lose 51 pounds already. 51 pounds of fat....gone! And we still have 10-more weeks to see just how much more  we can lose. (And kudos to my team and all the participants for all their hard work. Go Beast Mode!)

Myself, Butch and Drew don't count towards the participants weight loss totals, but the three of us have combined to lose about 16 pounds so far. I'd say we're doing alright. :)

Why am I doing this challenge? Well, years back I I was fat. Then I got in shape with Miramont's help in late 2008 and lost about 40 pounds. I maintained it pretty well, but a year ago I had a baby and let almost all of my old bad workout and eating habits returned....with a vengeance. With the crazy schedule and hectic life of a new father I quickly added 20-30 pounds to my waistline and I was no longer able to wear my large t-shirts and half of my pants were too tight. I was tired, lethargic, and I felt like crap about myself. Things needed to change and I did it once, so I can do it again.

This time I have more motivation than just wanting to look and feel better. I want to be healthy so I can be around for a lot more of my daughter's life. And I want to model good eating and exercise habits for her. Plus, with my history of already having cancer once, I don't want any preventable illnesses coming at me because I'm too lazy to be healthy.

Here is the transformation I did at Miramont back in 2008-2009 and I plan on getting in just as good of shape, if not better when this is all said and done. (This may be one of the few times you ever see me shirtless, I'm just not that type of dude.)
