What that yellow ribbon on a dog's leash means. In an effort to try to solve an issue that dog owners experience, a non-profit group has started the Yellow Dog Project to help those that are trying to help the animals.

By putting a yellow ribbon or a yellow object on the leash of your dog, you will be able to hopefully help dog owners maintain an atmosphere that is most beneficial for a dog that is training or in rehab, dogs that have health issues as well as dogs that have been rescued are still anxious and nervous.

The yellow ribbon signals to others that your dog needs distance and is to not be approached. They also ask that if you see a yellow ribbon on a leash that you give extra distance and time for the owner and canine to pass you. It's a very respectful way of being able to tell others, that you and your dog need space. This is such a great idea for owners because even dogs aren't always at their best and need extra help.
