WeldWerks’ Latest 10K IPA to Help Build Home for Greeley Family
WeldWerks Brewing Co. is debuting the next edition of its 10K IPA series, a quarterly release that benefits non-profit organizations, on Friday (July 9).
According to a press release from Indie Creative Co., at least $10,000 in sales from this quarter's beer, the 10K IPA: House That Beer Built, will go towards Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity's House That Beer Built program.
The program will use the donation to build a house for the Legawi family, who came to Greeley from Sudan three years ago. Aster Legawi is currently living in a two-bedroom apartment with her four children. She hopes that her husband, who lives in Ethiopia, will be able to join them soon.
"Aster's husband, the children's father, has been trying for years to leave Ethiopia and join his family," said Anna Carr, Program Evaluation VISTA for Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity, in the release. "...the thought of being able to give her children a home that is theirs, and to have such a home ready for her husband to come home to — this gives her and her children hope. That is what this donation is doing for the Legawi family."
Patrons can find the 10K IPA: House That Beer Built, which is made with Citra, Strata, and Idaho Gem hops, at the brewery or via their beer finder.
"We care about beer and we care about people," Roy Van Anda, WeldWerks Community Foundation VISTA, told Indie Creative Co. "We are both excited and grateful that Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity provided us a pathway to give back to the community with greater intentionality."
