Breaking news from The Denver Channel, 7 homes have been evacuated  as a man has barricaded himself inside his LaSalle home while holding a 6-month old infant hostage.

LaSalle is just south of Greeley in Weld County.

The man barricaded himself inside the house on the block of 200 Ley Drive as a result of a domestic situation where he threatened to kill his child's mother after she was assaulted, said Weld County Sheriff Undersheriff Margie Martinez.

The woman called police and got away, but the baby was left inside. This situation started around 1:30 a.m., Martinez said

The Swat Team has been on site since about 3AM according to KMGH, and there is no timetable for when those who have been evacuated from their homes will be able to return.

Hostages are scary enough situations, let alone situations where the hostages aren't even a year old.

KMGH says they will update their story as more details unfold.

Let's hope this turns out ok.
