After what happened in April in Firestone, many residents are concerned about explosive gasses seeping into their homes. Weld County Commissioners have decided to offer Weld County residents monitors that can detect explosive gasses available free of charge.

These monitors detect gases such as carbon monoxide, propane and methane. The funding comes from the county's general fund. To receive one of these monitors, you will need to provide proof of residency in Weld County with a utility bill, property tax statement or driver's license.

Montiors can be picked up at the Planning Department which is located at 1555 N. 17th Ave.
