There are 56 competitors from each U.S. state and territory on NBC's 'American Song,' a take off the the huge 'Eurovision' contest. Riker Lynch is Colorado's representative.

Colorado will get another feather in its cap if Riker Lynch wins the Grand Prize on 'American Song, which premiered in March. The competition is looking for the best original song; Riker sang his song recently during the third round of qualifiers.

'American Song,' like 'Eurovision' is about big productions, not just getting up on stage and singing a song. You have to have a lot of lights, movement and ''Wow." I can't imagine trying to impress Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson, let alone the 56 judges that the show has; Colorado's judge is former member of The Fray, Isaac Slade.

Lynch's performance on April 4, 2022, saw him rank at 2nd out of 10 that night, moving him into the Semi-Final round that will air on Monday, April 25, 2022. There are only 18 competitors total, in the two semi-final rounds, with Michael Bolton being one of them.

I think it kind of has a One Direction sound, but that's me. You can be the 'judge.'
