Adjust your ride to and from work accordingly: According to the City of Fort Collins, the intersection of Walnut and Linden will close next week due to some construction work.

The construction will begin on Monday, March 22. Pedestrians will still be given an area to cross the intersection just outside the work zone, but traffic will not be allowed in this area for about five weeks, weather permitting.

However, the closure will just affect the intersection, not the entirety of Walnut or Linden.

Businesses in this area will be open and you will have access to them during the construction. This closure is part of the larger Linden Street Renovation Project. According to the City of Fort Collins' website,

By the end of the project, Linden Street will be transformed into a “convertible street” and will be much more pedestrian friendly and aesthetically pleasing.

When this initial construction is complete, according to a press release, "Jefferson/Linden intersection will close for a few weeks in late April and early May."
