Wallet Thief Leaves Behind His Own Wallet

Taking someone else’s wallet and leaving your own behind, might simply be one of the stupidest moves ever made by a petty crook. But it happened. (In Florida, of course.)

According to UPI, this 47-year-old man had made a habit of stealing women’s wallets out of their purses at bars and restaurants. One day he got caught with his hand in a woman’s purse and fled the scene. But numbskull here had set his own wallet down on the bar before reaching his hands in to this woman’s purse and didn’t grab it on his way out.

So, police had his wallet and ID as well as security camera footage of his attempted robbery to put him behind bars.

Maybe he thought he was doing a little bit of the ‘Robin Hood’ thing because with the money and credit cards he had stolen, he bought cigarettes, alcohol, mobile phone cards and made at least three donations to the American Diabetes Association. (All three donations were just $1.)

What a saint.
