R&R Sign ROSCOE, TEXASHow's this for odd: If we are caught walking on the railroad tracks along Mason Street in Old Town Fort Collins, you could be cited for trespassing!

The Coloradoan reported the news this afternoon. The city has no ordinance about crossing the railroad tracks yet, but technically, the tracks are on private property and walking on them could earn you a petty offense of trespassing.

Now that the railroad tracks along Mason Street in Old Town Fort Collins are lowered, lined with gravel and paralleled by raised curbs, walking on them is illegal.

I'm sure there will be some people that get all butt-hurt because they have to walk an extra block and a half to cross the street, but I'm sure police are more concerned with safety than they are about issuing lots of trespassing tickets. The the number of cars that have managed to get themselves high-centered on the new tracks is bad enough.

Need a reason to be careful around the tracks? Watch what a train does to this giant water truck, and imagine what it would do to your fleshy parts.

Get the point?
