Vegas is Back, Baby: Loveland to Vegas Flights Return After 9 Years
Allegiant was here, then they left in 2012. They talked about coming back in 2019, but backed out. Now Avelo, with flights to Burbank, is adding Las Vegas.
This is great news for those who love Las Vegas, but don't love the whole DIA thing. I can't imagine how many people in Northern Colorado have been missing these flights. Then, when Allegiant announced their return, and then backed out because of the non-manned tower situation, it just hurt.
Avelo Airlines has announced that, just in time for Christmas 2021, they'll fly us out (and back) to Vegas on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Flights, aboard their Boeing Next Generation 737-800, begin December 15, 2021.
The Boeing Next Generation 737-800 costs about $82 million. With flights out of the Northern Colorado Regional Airport starting at only $39 (one way) they'll have paid for one Boeing after 2,102,564 booked flights.
Landing in Las Vegas on Wednesday and flying back on Saturday sounds good. But, landing on Saturday and flying back on Wednesday sounds pretty good, too. I'll just have to decided when the time comes for another celebration in 'Sin City.'
Of course, ticket prices will tick up with adding bags and whatnot, but it's still a very cheap flight to get the heck out of town and have some fun in that whacky, crazy fun town, Las Vegas.
I can easily pick out five great stories about my adventures in Las Vegas:
- The 50th Birthday Trip
- The Trip Where I Left a Bunch of Cash at Home By Mistake
- The Radio Broadcast Awards Trip.
- The Zac Brown at House of Blues Trip.
- The Engagement Trip.
I can't wait to add some more 'great stories' to the list.
