Tortoise Survives in Locked Storage Room for 30 Years

This poor little thing! Manuela the tortoise disappeared from her home in Brazil in 1982 and was just found again.   The family thought that she had ran away because some builders working on their house left the door open. Nope, she didn't run away. She was accidentally locked in a room that had a whole bunch of junk in it. She was found by one of the children who was cleaning out the room because of the passing of their dad. The were sorting through the junk and the tortoise was found in a box containing an old record player.

The species of tortoise that Manuela is can go for two to three years without eating. They are saying that she may have survived by eating termites from the wooden floor.
