Top-Selling Musicians in America Map Leaves Out Colorado
Some dude on Reddit recently took some data from the RIAA’s list of the 250 top-selling musicians in the United States and used it to label each state according to the most unit-moving bands to hail from them. But I was sad to see Colorado blank on the map... So I did some research just for our great state.
First off, I have to say that after I got over the fact that Colorado wasn't represented, I was surprised as hell to see Kenny G as the best selling artist from Washington state. Like one in every three great bands is from that state and Kenny G sold more records than them? SAD!
As for Colorado... We were left blank, as we didn’t have a native-born musician in the RIAA’s Top 250 for all-time sales, but we still have some great musicians from here. I can't tell you who has sold the most albums, but I can tell you some people/bands that would be on that list if one existed...
-Breathe Carolina (Denver)
-Big Head Todd and the Monsters (Boulder)
-Ivan Moody from Five Finger Death Punch (Denver)
-Flobots (Denver)
-The Fray (Denver)
-The Lumineers (Denver)
-OneRepublic (Colorado Springs)
-Philip Bailey from Earth, Wind and Fire (Denver)
-The String Cheese Incident (Boulder)
-Tickle Me Pink (Ft. Collins)
-Sugarloaf (Denver)
Remember, the artist had to be born in Colorado, not just live here, to make the list, thus John Denver is the New Mexico representative. And I may have forgotten one or two. If so let me know in the comment section below↓
