'Tis the season all around Colorado and beyond, and while for most it's "wonderful," for our local delivery drivers, it's the most stressful time of the year. What if there was a way to thank them that didn't cost you anything?

How Can We Tip Amazon Drivers This Holiday Season?

Driving up or down I-25, seeing all of the new Amazon buildings, with another going up as we speak in Loveland between HWY 392 and Crossroads Blvd, you can't help but ask yourself... Do we really need all of these random Amazon warehouses? The answer apparently, is yes, especially during the holiday season.

In 2020 alone, Amazon delivered 1.5 billion packages during the holiday season. Even more in 2021. This year, it's estimated that amazing is delivering roughly 1.6 million packages a day. That's about 66 thousand packages an hour. You can imagine how stressful this is for the folks working for Amazon, especially the drivers. So, how can we thank them for their time and assistance this holiday season?

Tip Amazon Drivers For Free Through Alexa

I saw this note on Facebook yesterday that said...

Starting December 7, any time a customer says “Alexa, thank my driver,” the driver who delivered their most recent package will be notified of the customer’s appreciation. And, in celebration of this new feature, with each thank-you received from customers, drivers will also receive an additional $5, at no cost to the customer. We’ll be doing this for the first 1 million thank-you’s received. And, the five drivers who receive the most customer “thank-you’s” during the promotional period, will also be rewarded with $10,000 and an additional $10,000 to their charity of choice.

Of course, I didn't buy it at first because people post fake stuff like that all of the time. So this morning when Amazon stopped by my house, I tried it, and it worked! "Glad you enjoyed your most recent delivery, we'll share your thanks" was how Alexa responded after thanking my driver. How cool is that? What else can you do to thank them?

Around our house, we seemingly order a ton of stuff so we have a little basket with water, soda, and snacks for the drivers to grand a drink or snack. We hope to let them know that we appreciate them and the long days they're putting in to help people all over get the things they need for the holiday season. To all of our delivery friends around Colorado and beyond, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas. What you do is very much appreciated. Cheers.
