Multiple Colorado roads crumbled over the weekend, according to two Facebook posts from the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Eastbound US 36 closed at Wadsworth Blvd. after underlying moist soil caused cracks over the highway. Engineering and maintenance crews were able to stabilize the ground enough to open one lane on Monday morning.

As of Tuesday morning, CDOT announced that the highway is now open, but warned motorists to be on the look out for lane changes, speed reductions and traffic delays.

Delays are also impacting CO 325 after a section of the northbound lane eroded. The damaged lane is blocked off by a temporary barrier, which travelers are required to keep an 11 foot distance from. The highway is still partially open to drivers, with one lane remaining open to allow alternating traffic.

The alternation is controlled with a portable traffic light, but drivers should expect delays and drive with caution.

In a statement on their Facebook page, CDOT thanked drivers for their cooperation and promised to continue working on the roads.

Updates and information about closures and road conditions can be found on Facebook or at COtrip.org.
