Let’s get something straight; even if something has already been stolen, that doesn’t make it okay for you to now steal it. Believe it or not, that’s the defense a Minnesota man accused of auto theft use with police.

According to Twin Cities.com authorities pulled over two men who had just broken into and stolen a police  ‘bait car’.

When confronted by police, the driver first said the car belonged to one of his friends. After realizing police saw right through that lie, he then proceeded to tell them,

That he could not get in trouble as the vehicle was already stolen.

Seriously. He actually though police should let him go because he stolen a car that someone else had already stolen, making him immune from any trouble.

Both he and his passenger were charged with car theft and put in jail. We’ll see how his legal loophole holds up in court.
