I have been seeing these commercials for a while for the new flavors of Lays potato chips and that America needs to decide on which flavor to keep, and i was intrigued. Chicken and Waffles, Cheesy Garlic Bread and Sriracha were the flavors that you had to choose from and only two sounded good to me.     Don't get me wrong, Sriracha is good an all but I don't need to taste it in chip form.

I finally found little bags of the flavors I wanted to try at a gas station. I went with little bags just because I am not a huge junk food eater and don't really need a big bag of chips laying around and the fact that if they tasted like crap, then that much wasn't going to go to waste.

As soon as I purchased them, I didn't even wait to get out of the store to try them. I opened the bag of Chicken and Waffles, took one single chip out and ate it. I didn't just scarf it down. I evaluated the taste like a fine wine and my first reaction was that it tasted like IHOP. The cashier was curious so I offered a chip to them and they said that it really did taste like IHOP. Pretty good!

Next was the Cheesy Garlic Bread. Opened the bag and it kind of smelled weird so I was a little weary, but dove in after little hesitation. The verdict? Tasted like Cheesy Garlic Bread. It wasn't anything amazing but it did taste like its name.

I shared them around work and one person said that they really wanted a waffle after eating the Chicken and Waffles, which I could see since you can taste the maple and everything in the chip.

Beano and I had a discussion about how "flavors" of stuff sure has come a long way. Back when we were growing up, things that were "flavored" didn't really taste like they should have and it usually involved a lot of flavor powder.

My vote, Chicken and Waffles. I am still a little mad though that my flavor of Korean BBQ didn't get picked as a finalist.
