Thank Goodness She’s Alive-Fort Collins Food Truck Owner Survives explosion
On July 19th, as Michelle Aldrich was starting her car, a flash fire explosion occurred simultaneously. She was burned on her arms and upper body, but miraculously survived the explosion and, according to the Coloradoan, is expected to be discharged from the hospital "in a couple of days."
Michelle has been the owner of the Goodness food truck since 2016 after purchasing the truck and the recipe's. The truck, which has roamed Northern Colorado since 2013, has had a strong following of fans who love the pork loin stuffed with Italian sausage, also known as the "HogFather", and who love the paint job on the truck. At one time, Aldrich had planned to paint over the truck and give it a new name, but she changed her mind after a strong response for her to keep things as they are.
As Michelle is recovering from the explosion, friends and staff have kept the truck operational, showing up at local events as well as a regular spot at Maxline Brewing on Monday, Tuesday's at the City Park Rally, and Thursday's at the Fossil Creek Park Rally. There is a GoFundMe page set up to help with Michell's medical expenses and Maxline Brewing (2724 McClelland Drive) is chipping in by donating $1 from every pint of Irish Red and IPA sold from 6p to close.
The Goodness truck will also be at the final CSU Lagoon Summer Concert Series performance this Wednesday evening at 6p.
