This week is going to be a hot one.

Tuesday (July 7) will kick off the heat wave with a high of 97 degrees and mostly sunny skies. There is a 20% chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, so we might get a little break from the sweltering sun.

We won't get that break on Wednesday (July 8), which the National Weather Service predicts will have temperatures as hot as 97 degrees, and sunny skies.

Things will cool down a bit on Thursday (July 9), with a high of 94 degrees and a 20% chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Temperatures are predicted to rise back up to a high of 99 degrees on Friday (July 10), and possibly hit a high of 100 degrees on Saturday (July 11).

Sounds like an excuse to have a middle-of-the-week margarita.
