Five teenage boys are now facing multiple charges, including felony menacing, child abuse, and third-degree assault, for allegedly shooting multiple people with paintball guns in Evans.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Tuesday (May 26), when the boys reportedly fired their paintball guns at a woman and her infant from their vehicle.

The woman told The Denver Channel that the paintball struck her in the leg, leaving blood and painful bruising. Thankfully, the infant was not hit.

According to a press release from the Evans Police Department, the group also hit a 4-year-old child with a paintball, and caused over $1,000 in damages to multiple houses.

Police said the incident was not a lapse in judgement, but rather a calculated and cruel act, noting that the perpetrators will be prosecuted "to the fullest extent of the law."
