It’s not every day one of the Black Eyed Peas comes to Fort Collins, but then again we’ve been getting our fair share of ‘big name’ visits in this election year. This afternoon Will.I.Am came to the Colorado State University Campus to encourage students to register and vote as part of an Obama For America event.

While they flirted with the idea of bringing in Ashanti to replace Fergie, it seems the Black Eyed Peas have now decided to take an indefinite hiatus to allow all members to pursue solo projects and other interests outside of music.

Even though there have been many rumors that the Black Eyed Peas are disbanding, one saying that the group was going to replace Fergie, will.i.am has steadfastly denied the gossip about the BEPs parting ways. Despite this, the group appears to be taking a hiatus since Will is getting ready to release a solo album, entitled ‘#willpower.’

When you’re as successful as Kanye West, you can make a lot of things true simply by saying them out loud. Luckily for Black Eyed Peas fans, not even Kanye can cause a band’s breakup by announcing it. West caused a stir by telling the audience at his show last Friday that the BEP were no more, but according to the group’s frontman, will.i.am, the rumors of their demise have been greatly exaggerate

The Black Eyed Peas are opening a school for New York teenagers to learn video and music production using professional-quality equipment. It's a collaboration between the band’s Peapod Foundation and the Adobe Foundation and will be called the Peapod Adobe Youth Voices music and multimedia academy in lower Manhattan. Now there is a school I wish I could have gone to!
