Million Dollar Highway

In the mountains between Silverton and Ouray, a stretch of road has been earning its nickname — since the 1880s.

Workers were clearing a Colorado highway when they realized they heard something from above. It was a wall of snow roaring down a nearby mountain so they grabbed their cameras.

Two people are lucky to be alive after their vehicle plunged off HWY 550 near Red Mountain Pass.
