A ‘Minions’ movie shouldn't work. They were undoubtedly the best part of the ‘Despicable Me’ movies, and a very large part of why those films were successful. But, could they actually support their own movie? That would be like giving Kramer his own ‘Seinfeld’ spinoff. Yet, watching this new ‘Minions’ trailer has us totally hooked. This could actually work.

Universal has released a new clip from its upcoming animated film 'Despicable Me 2.' In the clip above, Steve Carell's villainous Gru character and his companion, voiced by the amazing Kristen Wiig, get a little rescue help from those adorable minions. I loved "Despicable Me" and I’m excited that there is a sequel due out next summer, but I was even more excited to learn that the Minions will be getting their own feature-length film!
