‘Titanic,’ one of the highest grossing films in movie history, is getting a 3D retrofit that is scheduled to hit theaters on April 6, 2012. Why? (Well, obviously it's to cash in the the 3D hype and make more cash.) But why, I ask, does 'Titanic' need the 3D treatment?!

In the wake of ‘The Lion King 3D’ standing proudly atop the box office like King Mufasa for two straight weekends, Disney announced Tuesday that four more animated classics will return to the big screen in eye-popping 3D.

Seventeen years after its initial box-office run, ‘The Lion King’ is again reigning supreme. The new 3D incarnation of the film, currently in a limited-engagement run, took in another $22 million to land atop the charts for the second weekend in a row.

In a recent article on Yahoo, they talked about how high movie prices are. The national average for a ticket is $8, that is not counting the extra that you have to shell out for 3D. On top of those prices, you have to pay for snacks and drinks, which can run you up another $10-$15...

News from the BBC states that the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton may be broadcast in 3D. Of course that would only affect those who have 3D TV’s in their homes and pay for 3D TV service.
