A non-profit organization has donated bullet and stab protective vests to the Larimer County Sheriff for use with their K9s.

The non-profit group, Vested Interest in K9s Inc., donated two protective vests for K9 Dox and K9 Tyr. Tyr's vest was sponsored by Cindy and Jerry Runta of Fort Collins. The vest is embroidered with the message "This gift of protection provided by Cindy and Jerry Runta." K9 Dox's vest has the message "Honoring those who served and sacrificed."

The organization .Vested Interest in K9s Inc. has provided body armor and protection for over 3,500 animals. Their website says that their mission is to "provide bullet and stab proof vests to law enforcement dogs and agencies throughout the U.S."
