Have you always wanted a cat, but don’t want to deal with feeding it, cleaning it, or taking it to the vet? Maybe your landlord doesn't allow pets. Well, you-re not-so-simple solution is to move to Siberia.

A public organization there has started a service where, for $10, you can rent a cat for 2-hours.

According to Pravda.Ru the idea is being spearheaded by a woman named Alyona Temerova, who believes that “communication with cats shows a positive effect on the human psyche. In addition, it is believed that purring cats help normalize human blood pressure.”

She’s hoping that she can provide a good service for people are not allowed to have cats where they live or for people to try having a cat around before they go out and get one of their own. Right now she’s only pimping two cats, her own “Mashka” and “Klyopa”.

This is not the first idea of its kind. There is actually a Japanese movie made called “Rent-A-Cat.” It’s about a woman who helps lonely people and walks a long a riverbank with a megaphone shouting “Cats for rent! Are you Lonely? Why not rent a cat?”

I think I'm officially weirded-out now...

Would you ever rent a cat?
