Shinedown is planning on releasing a new acoustic album. The beauty of it is that you can already hear the songs, because they are all covers. If you are lucky enough to win tickets to see our Point Unplugged show with Shinedown, maybe you'll get to hear one of these performed live. (We're not making any promises though.)

Shinedown let fans send in nominations on it's Facebook page and vote for the songs they wanted to hear. Read on to see what song's they will record.

SITTING ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY

The first song picked was the classic hits by Otis Redding. First recorded in 1967, it has since been covered by the likes of Pearl Jam, Willie Nelson, and Bob Dylan among others.

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE

The Bon Jovi song was in 1985. It has appeared in the show Deadliest Catch, Supernatural, and in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV.

LONDON CALLING

A Clash song from 1979. The lyrics of the original were inspired by a nuclear reactor meltdown at Three Mile Island in Pennsylvania.

IN THE AIR TONIGHT

The Phil Collins jam you may have heard once or twice in your life. The song was on the 1981 album Face Value, and may or may not be about someone drowning.

RUNAWAY TRAIN

Soul Asylum released this song in 1992 on the album Grave Dancers Union. The song is less about out-of-control trains and more about missing kids. Kleenex not included.

BLACK

In 2011, the Pearl Jam song Black was voted number nine on Rolling Stone's list of Best Ballads of all time. It never was released as a single because Eddie Vedder felt the emotion would be lost by a video and that "fragile songs get crushed by the business."

BLUE ON BLACK

The basic guitar song was written by Kenny Wayne Shepherd and was released in 1998. The song is still one of Shepherd's most listened to songs.

SOMEONE LIKE YOU

The Adele song was released in 2011. It will be interesting to hear how Shinedown turns it into an acoustic cover. Did you know she is only 25 years old.

SHE TALKS TO ANGELS

The song by The Black Crowes was released in 1990. You can still hear this song on certain radio stations around the country...

NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

The Shinedown cover of this Metallica song will hopefully include a finger-bleeding acoustic solo. The original was released in 1992.
