You might want to rethink the picture the next time someone asks you to lean in for a "selfie".

A lice removal professional is claiming that "selfies" are the reason that there has been an increase in lice with young people.

This claim isn't conclusive or "proven" by any means but there may be some truth to it...possibly. Lice are spread from direct contact so when you lean in to take that picture with your bestie and bump heads, there could be a transfer if one or the other has lice.

The claim of the increase is from Marcy McQuillan who runs two lice treatment centers in California. She came to the conclusion that the lice are coming from selfies because every teen that she has treated, she has asked about selfies and they admitted to taking them every day.

So like I said, it does make sense, but it is not a proven theory. But, just to be safe... check before you take that selfie with your bff or stranger.
