Scam Hits Close to Home in Larimer County
Scams come and go, but none that I know of have used the name of someone in law enforcement. The scam that this is referring to is the "IRS Scam."
As the Denver Channel reported, this fraud is a little different this time, as it involves a high ranking member of the Larimer County Sheriffs Office.
Callers are claiming they are law enforcement and saying you need to pay them immediately in regards to an IRS bill or you will be arrested.
Larimer County reminds us that a member of law enforcement will never call you asking for money.
Word to the wise: BE AWARE.
