When I got done watching this film , all I could think was, "Wow, Ryan has come a long way since he was on the show 'Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place'." Ryan plays a CIA agent who hasn't seen any action and is in charge of taking care of a safe house. His development through out the film was quite believable. An agent with little to no field work quickly adapts by using his training and his will to prove that he has what it takes to be promoted. Though, I have to say, the real star of the film was Denzel Washington, but that's not really a surprise.Washington plays a rogue CIA agent being hunted down by mercenaries for something that he is carrying. He ends up in the hands of the CIA and gets taken to the safe house for interrogation when the safe house comes under attack and Reynolds must take care of Washington.

This movie is a great suspense and has some great action sequences, but not too over the top which helps make it believable. It is a bit predictable but nothing too bad that would really ruin the movie for you. I would say if you are a fan of Washington or Reynolds then you would want to check this out.

'Safe House' cinematography reminds me of 'Man on Fire' just by the way the camera angles, lighting and the way the scenes were filmed.

Overall I give it 4 out of 5 car chases

'Safe House' is Rated R for strong violence throughout and some language
