The Larimer County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) isn't just working to protect you from crime...they're also working to protect you from high college tuition.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, any Larimer County resident who is enrolled in or applying to a higher learning institution or a vocational training program in Colorado is welcome to apply for LCSO's $500 scholarship.

They are accepting applications, which can be found here or at the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, until February 24.

Local citizens, appointed by Sheriff Justin Smith, will judge the applications based on leadership, merit, character, and career goals.

The scholarship is part of a collaboration between LCSO and the County Sheriffs of Colorado Scholarship Program.

This is the 42nd year that LCSO has offered the scholarship.
