As if my waistline needs any help expanding, I just stumbled on a store that claims to have cookie dough that is safe to eat raw. Not only is if safe to eat, they actually discourage you from trying to bake it (because it won’t work).

Sounds too good to be true doesn't it?

I love raw cookie dough. So much so that I would probably opt for raw cookie dough over fresh baked cookies if given the option. "They" say there are all kinds of health risks to eating it, but gosh dang it, it’s yummy. The CDC would not like my cookie dough eating habits.

Apparently, my dough-eating wishes have been granted thanks to the Cookie Dough Café.

According to their website:

The Cookie Dough Cafe specializes in creating gourmet, edible cookie dough. All of our products are made from scratch with high-quality ingredients. The Cookie Dough Cafe’s cuisine is an indulgence like you have never experienced before!

The only problem I see is that they only have the ready-to-eat dough for sale in Fresh Market stores in Illinois. (They do sell wholesale as well). I’m guessing that means I can’t have a case delivered to my front door.

Dang.

But maybe in the near future?

After this little titillation, I had to go looking for a few other ways to get my fix on safe raw cookie dough. I may have to try some out, or figure out a way to get to Illinois.

Do you have a 'safe-to-eat' raw cookie dough recipe I should try?
