Search efforts are currently underway for a man who has reportedly gone missing in Rocky Mountain National Park.

On September 10, 2020 a friend of 24-year-old, Steven Grunwald, reported him missing to rangers. Grunwald last contacted family and friends on August 28 and was last seen in Boulder on the same day.

His exact route or destination is unknown, but park rangers believe he may have been attempting the Glacier Gorge Traverse on August 29. According to park staff, the Glacier Gorge Traverse is very difficult and expansive route, that includes 11 peak summits over approximately 19 miles of terrain. Rangers located Grunwald's parked vehicle at the Glacier Gorge Trailhead on September 10.

Park rangers are attempting to narrow down the overall search area, but have started in the upper Glacier Gorge area by glassing areas of McHenrys Peak and Arrowhead as well as areas in upper Glacier Gorge from the Keyhole Route of Longs Peak
