Yesterday evening I was just going about my business, mowing my grandma's lawn when I saw a dog running without its owner. I waited a minute and then slowly approached the dog. I let her sniff my hand and immediately she responded and was super sweet. I saw that she didn't have tags, was blind and old and then sadness swept over me because I thought that some heartless soul had abandoned her. If you follow me on Facebook, you know about this ordeal. I really thought someone had abandoned her so I called the local police department and sat around for over an hour waiting for a patrolmen to show up. While I was sitting there, waiting, a random person came by and said, "oh you found your dog." I stated that it wasn't mine and he told me that it followed him from some yard. I asked where and he didn't know he just gave the vicinity of where he think the dog came from. That gave me a little hope that the dog wasn't abandoned

Since I was supposed to stay put to wait for the cop, my awesome cousin went down to the suspected area and began knocking on doors. She eventually found a person who said it was their neighbors dog, but they were not home. After looking up their name in the yellow pages we got a hold of them and Katie, the dog, was returned home.

Long story short(not really) PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE put tags on your dogs so that if they do get out of the yard, or house, or car or whatever, they can be returned to you! They are a part of your family so don't lose them. Or at least get them micro chipped. I would say to put tags on your cats too, but that's whole different thing since cats like to jump on stuff and squeeze through things.
