Orlando Shooter’s Ex-Wife Speaks Out From Boulder

As the Nation mourns the tragic events that unfolded in Orlando, a clearer picture of who the shooter was is being painted by his ex-wife in Boulder. According to 9 News, Omar Seddique Mateen, the 29-year-old shooter that took the lives of 50 people in an Orland club, is being described as "violent, very short-tempered and physically abusive," by his ex-wife.

Sitora Yusufiy, was married to Mateen for four months in 2009, after she met him online, and had to be rescued by her family due to physical and emotional abuse. Yusufiy has been staying in Boulder and spoke to the media after meeting with the FBI.

When speaking with the press, she stated that Mateen had a desire to work in law enforcement and had previously spoken to her about hating people that were gay, however, she had not talked to him for seven years, and their divorce was finalized in 2011.
